Is this replacing the mobile app? No. Tiny Beacon is a mobile app first, always. This site is where you read about it and download it.
Is there a web dashboard? Not yet. Desktop access is a future feature only if paying families ask for it.
Is the app really built in Malaysia? Yes. Designed and operated from Kuala Lumpur by a Malaysian criminologist and a Malaysian broadcaster. The engineering is local too.
How does Tiny Beacon handle consent? Every data category requires active, revocable consent. The child can revoke consent in one tap from the app. Retained content is purged within 24 hours of revocation.
How long does Tiny Beacon keep flagged content? Flagged content is retained for 30 days then automatically deleted unless you explicitly save it. Content the model finds unremarkable is deleted immediately — no copy is ever stored.
What does “encrypted at rest” mean exactly?Screenshots are sent to a Supabase Edge Function where Claude’s vision model reads them in plaintext during analysis — that is unavoidable if you want an AI to understand the image. After analysis, if content is flagged, it is encrypted in storage. We call this “encrypted at rest” and we say exactly that, no more. We are working toward on-device analysis as a future goal.
