What encryption actually means here.
We say encrypted at rest, not end-to-end. That's a choice about honesty, not a marketing tagline. Here is exactly what happens when your child uses a device Tiny Beacon is watching over.
The public app
The Tiny Beacon app available through the App Store and Google Play does not collect screenshots or screen content. Raw, per-app usage also stays on the device. The public app uses the device's own controls for screen-time limits and supports openly shared family-safety features such as safe zones and emergency alerts.
Screen-content understanding
Screen-content understanding is limited to separately distributed supervised family editions, not the builds available through the public app stores. Families are informed before choosing whether to opt in.
Malaysian data law & consent
Every data category requires active, revocable consent. Revoke and collection stops immediately, and that child's retained data is deleted right away. Otherwise you choose how long Tiny Beacon keeps each child's data — 30 days by default, adjustable per child. In the separately contracted supervised editions, threat-flagged captures are kept only while needed and deleted automatically when they expire. We are built to Malaysian data protection standards under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
